A Silent Factory is an exhibition and research project that delves into the sonic memory of the Atemajac Factory, a former textile mill located in Zapopan that operated from the mid-19th century until the late 20th century. The exhibition presented fifteen wind instruments belonging to the factory, along with archival materials including photographs and original scores. As part of the project, an analog synthesizer was commissioned from the artist Carola Humo, whose sound output was channeled through resonators placed inside the instruments. Additionally, an experimental score was commissioned from composer Marianne Teixido and was performed live using the original instruments.
